Arunachal: Army brings succor to border village through medical camp
inspite of heavy snowfall a medical camp was organised by Tawang Brigade in the remote village of Taktsang Gompa in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh.

As part of its continued endeavors towards ensuring better health care of border population, a medical camp was organised by Tawang Brigade in the remote village of Taktsang Gompa in Tawang District.
The medical camp was inaugurated by Brig Zubin Bhatnagar, Commander Tawang Brigade in presence of officials from Civil Administration. The medical camp benefited approx 500 people including 141 women and 90 Children , predominantly from the villages of Taktsang – Gompa, and Zimithang.
The medical camp was organised inspite of heavy snowfall and cold weather in the area. The camp catered for various kind of medical problems faced by local population including specialist care in obstetrics, gynecology, general medicine and old age related problems.
A team of well qualified doctors from the Indian Army consisting of two medical officers, two dental officers and specialists from District Hospital actively participated and provided their services during which free medicines worth Rs 1.5 Lacs were also distributed.
To create deeper understanding of personal health, a lecture on cold weather diseases and precautions to be taken was also organised by the Army. On conclusion of the event, the local village heads expressed their deep appreciation to the Indian Army for their initiative.
The Army has assured continued co-operation and assistance for the border population.
