Arunachal: No Helmet, No Petrol for Two-Wheeler Riders in Tirap dist
Tirap district administration implemented the formula ” NO HELMET NO PETROL” for two wheeler riders to promote road safety.

Two-wheeler riders who are not wearing a helmet, or if their pillion is without a helmet, will be not given fuel at any fuel station in Tirap district.
Dy Commissioner of Tirap District, P N Thungan through a official notification directed all petrol pump owners ” not to issue fuel to two wheeler rider who are coming to their fuel station without wearing helmet” .
Thungan also directed all fuel station owners to strictly comply this order and also display a board ” NO HELMET NO FUEL ” .
According to the Section 129 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, not wearing a helmet while riding a two-wheeler is a violation of the law and can draw imprisonment up to six months under Indian Penal Code section 188.
All filling stations in Tirap district have been instructed to carry out massive publicity on their premises about the upcoming regulation and consequences of rule violation. “It is, therefore, instructed that all petrol pumps in Tirap district will publicise this order on their “that fuel will not be given to vehicles whose rider and pillion are found without helmets,”.
