Itanagar: PWD Starts clearing landslides from different parts of Capital complex

Engineers of PWD Capital Division with man and machine in various arterial roads of capital city began the cleaning of debris of landslides and mudslide triggered by torrential rain during the last few days.
Chief Engineer, Katung Wahge inform that heavy machinery have also been engaged at Mowb-II Senki View road and hope the said road may got cleared buy Thursday evening.
Wahge said that the bridge near Ganga Market is also in progress and would be opened for public movement by August.
Construction of Culvert at ESS Sector will also started soon on priority basis. Work on bridge construction is also in progress at Pachin while PWD have also repaired several stretch of Itanagar -Jully -Papu Nallah road but major hurdles are of land encroachment and blockade of roadside drain by the landslide. Some land encroachers and building owners have constructed dwelling without giving sufficient space for roadside drainage, wahge informed.

Every development and construction process hampered if the local resident and the general public does not extend their cooperation and support with the department. Wahge appeal all denizens to cooperate in making the road clear so that in case of any disaster the repairing and maintenance process does not get hampered.
