Many electric poles were also uprooted damaging the 33 KV and 11 KV long transmission lines resulting in disruption of power supply at Namsai district, the report said.
The areas around Parasuram Kund and Turung Reserve Forest of Wakro circle in Lohit district and Lathao and Chongkham circles of Namsai along the national highway were the worst affected.
Storms during this time of the year in the areas are an annual occurrence though the intensity and impact varies, the report said.
Meanwhile, on February 22 last, hailstorm lashed parts of Miao and Bordumsa sub-divisions of Changlang district.
Hailstones measuring 4-5inches in thickness destroyed crops in the area and also damaged a few dwellings.
Trees were uprooted and roads blocked. Restoration works have been undertaken on war footing and teams of officers have been constituted to assess actual loss, the report added.
