On verbal requisition from civil administration, BRO already engaged in clearing land slide started work for making an alternate foot path for rescue of stranded civilians. BRO personnel also assisted administration in providing relief materials like water & eatables across the land slide. Food packets were also provided for stranded civilians by 127 Road Construction Company (RCC) a BRO unit. Despite heavy rains & shooting stones, BRO personnel kept working on a war footing to clear the debris with heavy machinery including 05 Excavators and 50 Casual Paid Labourer.
Through a concerted effort by BRO, all passengers were evacuated with the subsequent help of Army & NDRF teams. Road was made motorable for light motor vehs (car/jeep) at around 07:00 PM and stranded local & tourist vehicles were evacuated. On Jun 20th, road was opened for all traffic at 11:30 AM with the help of police authorities. Situation is still critical due to heavy rains, shooting stones & uncontrolled muck. BRO personnel are still working on a war footing to keep the stretch of road open for traffic.
