Arunachal to get 144 retail outlet of petrol depot soon

Arunachal Pradesh will get around another 144 retail outlet of petrol depot in state, said Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) Asstiant Manager and Arunachal Pradesh state level Coordinator Satyakam Sharma.

Sharma said in a press briefing today that at present there are around 94 petrol depot of which 68 are of IOC, 10 of BPC and 16 are of Essar and are functioning properly but the government have decided to establish and give license to the willing applicants and entrepreneurs of state for opening of additional 144 retail outlet in state and by which almost all the parts of state will be covered including the  border area.  The  people will no more suffer for refilling their vehicle fuel by going to far from their residence area.

Public sectors undertakings (PSU) Oil marketing companies  like Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum are undertaking Retail outlet (petrol Pump) network expansion in tandem with the growth of petrol and diesel.

The expansion is being done to meet the growing fuel need and convenience of customers in emerging markets with intension of reaching products predominantly diesel ensuring quality and correct price to meet rural agricultural demand and people living in remote areas. It will also generate employment opportunity.

Advertisement have made by the petroleum companies for granting of Retail outlet across the country and in state wherein it is proposed to open around 144 outlet of which 64 of IOCL in which 52 for regular outlet while 12 outlet for rural area, 58 of BPCL in which 48 for regular and 10 for rural area and 22 for HPCL in which 20 for regular and 2 for rural area.

BPCL Sales Executive Aie Yogn Shyam while inform that there are several category for the selection for providing of dealership and advertisement have beam made for inviting application from prospective candidates for setting of petrol pump in state.

the process have also been simplified in line the government’s emphasis on ease of doing business and online application have been introduced and only eligible selected candidates will be require to produce the documents and eligibility norms have also been relaxed. And the finally the selection will be done through computerised ‘draw on lots’ or ‘bid opening’ in presence of renowned people and independence agency in transparent manner. All the outlet will be constructed with latest technology including automation.

He also informs that no document are required to uploaded at application stage. Under the new policy even the applicants who do not have land can apply under group-3 in case there are no suitable candidate in group 1 and 2 subject to group 3 applicant can subsequently offer land.

It is to state that State oil companies plan to add an unprecedented 25,000 petrol pumps in one shot, nearly half as much as operational today, across the country after the government signalled them to do so, according to people familiar with the matter.

The oil ministry has also scrapped an official policy on petrol pump dealers’ appointment, giving fuel retailers such as Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum the freedom to design their own rules for setting up filling stations,
