First time in history of Arunachal Pradesh Hair Transplantation carried out in Heema Hospital of Itanagar.

The Heema Hospital of state become the first to carried out hair transplantation today.Doctors used the Follicular Unit extension (FUE) transplantation technique.
Today a successful hair transplantation was made to a local patient here which was done by the two super specialist doctor of the hospital by Dr. Pura Duri, Dr. Manju Darang and senior Anaesthetic Genya Zirdo which took around 4 hours to complete one patient.
The specialist attending the patient said that around 2000 hair follicles have been extended and transplanted to a male pattern baldness. They said that the patient can witness the growth of hair within a couple of months.
Hema Hospital Chairman cum Managing Director Dr. Byabang Rana while inform Arunachal24 that this is the first of its kind in state and every one can take benefit of the such super speciality doctor available at the Hospital in Itanagar.
He said earlier the patient have to go outside of state for this type of surgery and spend a huge expenditure beside other difficulties during travelling. But now the specialist doctors are here at door step will cater to the need of the people of state. Patient can get the treatment within a day and go with a hope.
PROCEDURE OF FUE
As clarified earlier, FUE is a sutureless method of hair restoration in which hair follicles are extracted from the back of head under local anaesthesia with the help of special micropunches and implanted in the bald area.
On the day of surgery, the entire donor area from the back of the head is trimmed to 1–2 mm length. The patient lies in the prone position on the operating table. Local anaesthesia with Xylocaine, 1% diluted with saline, is administered slowly over the entire donor area.
The grafts are then extracted from the donor area with the help of 0.8 and 1 mm special micropunches The extraction of follicles is done under 2.5 – 5× magnification.
