Teams of NDRF, ITBP and local youth conducted an underwater search and retrieval operation for the drowned victim in Ranganadi, but couldn’t trace the body.

Search operation was continued for the second day to locate the body of the drowned person. A 48-year old man from Laba Village,Nyapin circle under Kurung Kumey district has been reportedly got drowned in Ranganadi, in Sher, Kimin circle on Saturday.
Kimin Additional Deputy Commissioner Likha Tejji inform that one Tadar Kioda, a permanent resident of Laba and presently residing at Dem site in Naharlagun while coming after completing his work at his rubber garden site near VKV School Sher. He alongwith his friend and relative was crossing the river Ranganadi reportedly got drowned and washed away on Saturday at around 2 PM.
Though two search team were deployed on Saturday but couldn’t success due to darkness. However on Sunday several team were constituted comprise of NDRF, ITBP, local police, administration, local youths were pressed into service for search operation to retrieve the body since early morning but due to muddy water and huge current flow of the river no result was made till late evening.
The search will continue on Monday also. ADC added.
He further appeal the people living on the both bank of the river to remain alert in monsoon for safety and security.
