Minister for Land Management, Forest and Environment, Nabam Rebia set the March 31 as deadline for completion of the much awaited and innovative multipurpose sports stadium at Yupia in Papum Pare district.

Minister alongwith Papum Pare district Deputy Commissioner Dr. Joram Beda, Urban Development Executive Engineer Gyamar  Tachung and other local officer make a whirlwind visit to many ongoing developmental works going on in Yupia and Doimukh areas including the under construction sports stadium.

Rebia while taking to Arunachal24  said that‘ this will be great asset for the district and state as a whole and this should be an  epitome of excellence’. We don’t hasty works and let the executive agency complete the much innovative project properly, systematically with quality and let it take some time and be completed by March and would be dedicated to the people of state.

He also said that we must make effort to make Yupia .a model district headquarter and hence it should be kept free from any encroachment and other unplanned activities. All inter sectoral roads need to be good and smooth so it would be our endeavour that all connectivity to the township of Yupia and Doimukh are completed soon.

Rebia also interacted with the local youth leaders and appealed them to always adhere to the technicalities and quality of works keeping in view importance and durability of the project in the public service.

At Doimukh, he also inspected the ongoing CC pavement road works at Rono, Market line, Circuit house area and instructed executing department and the contractors to maintain the technical standard and not to compromise with the quality of works.

He also visited the IB, CHC, Doimukh and site of District Hospital and interacted with the medical staffs and requested them to serve the humanity with sincerity and dedication.

The multipurpose sports stadiums being constructed at an estimated cost of 59.48 crone approximately with a sitting capacity of Fifteen thousand at a time. The stadiums would have almost all facility which include running track of 400 and 100 metres, football ground, pole bolt, long and triple jump, short put, discus throw, hammer throw, Jabling throw, high jump, 8 lane running track for athletic, hostel for athletic and participants, cafeteria, press gallery, swimming pool and all other facility which are generally needed for a good stadiums. There are at present provision of parking facility of around Four Hundred Fifty (450) vehicle and extra area available for extension of few other facility required. The ground area is of  around 18,2,32 sqmtrs while the stadium is of 28,060 sqmtrs.

He said a revised estimate of around 30 Crore have been sent to the government for approval and if is approved and sanctioned at the earliest the stadium would be one of the best place for almost all the sporting activities and would be the biggest sports stadium of state.
