A man who is a alleged accused of raped his own niece was arrested from the Jungle of Lekhi in Naharlagun on Thursday.

An alleged accused of rape case of June 4 was arrested by Doimukh police on Wednesday, said Papum Pare SP Pranap Tayal.
SP inform that the accused Lakang Tallong was on his way with his niece from Seppa to Itanagar in a Jeep and he raped her on its way and run away from the scene.
After received of complain the Papum Pare police started locating him. A massive manhunt was launched at various location in capital complex and other parts and later he was arrested from nearby jungle of Lekhi in Naharlagun on Wednesday afternoon. The accused is a permanent resident of Tallong village of East Kameng district.
The police team comprises of Doimukh OC, B Tanzang, SI Balkar Singh, ASI L Rama and other members of Doimukh police station which was also supported by Balijan PS SI T Habung have been able to arrest within a very short time.
A case have been registered at Doimukh police station under POCSO ACT 2012 and the accused is under custody. SP added.
