The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) met the Chief of the Army Staff General Bipin Rawat UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM in New Delhi on 3rd August 2018. They discussed about recruitment and ‘Pay Back to Society Group’.
The Governor conveyed the goodwill of the people of Arunachal Pradesh to the General for latter’s initiative in conducting pre-recruitment trainings by the Army Units located in the State, increased number of recruitment rallies and for the proposed new battalion of Arunachal Scouts.
The Governor briefed the Army Chief about the progress of the ‘Pay Back to Society Group’, which is the being promoted by the Governor. The project aims to ensure that larger number of youth from the State of Arunachal Pradesh join the Armed Forces.
The General assured his best for the State and people of Arunachal Pradesh and said that Indian Army is always with the fellow citizens of this Frontier State.
The Army Chief also said that Arunachal Pradesh boys particularly those from higher reaches, will be an asset and recruited in the Indian Army for the security of the border with China which is 1080 km. He expressed hope that youth of the State will utilize the opportunities of recruitment and more and more youth will be motivated by their parents, guardians, Gaon Burahs and District Administrations so that large number of them turn up for recruitment.
