Congress President Rahul Gandhi will address an election rally here in Itanagar on March 19 and will launch election campaign in the state for both Assembly and Parliament Elections.
Election to the 60-member Arunachal Pradesh Assembly and the two Lok Sabha seats in the state will be held on April 11.
The Congress will announce the names of the candidates for the polls in the state before Gandhis visit, Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Takam Sanjoy said.
The Congress had won 42 seats in 2014 state Assembly election but now has only five MLAs as a large number of legislators left the party and joined other parties.

On the other hand DC Capital Himanshu Gupta, Capital SP Tumme Amo, today visited the IG Park and inspected the ground where Rahul Gandhi will address the public gathering. The team of officers discussed the security aspects and shared their views and suggestion with the SPG officer.
The officers also discussed the programmes minutes with the APCC President Takam Sanjoy and others functionaries who were seen busy in preparation of the stage .
Rahul Gandhi will kick off the election campaigning for the simultaneous election of state which will go to poll on April 11 next.
