Army Rescues Flood affected people in lower Assam

Red Horns Division under the aegis of the Gajraj Corps, Army jawan moved swiftly and rescued people of Lower Assam affected by floods amidst a heavy deluge and pouring waters of overflowing rivers.
Based on a call for help from the Civil administration people, the Division launched multiple teams in areas of BTAD & Karbi Anglong Districts of Assam. Approx 3000 people trapped in their marooned villages in above districts were rescued amidst fast currents and taken to relief camps.
The Army deployed its boats to reach the marooned people and made a number of trips against the swift current to save people. Army is dedicated towards the safety of the people and despite all odds is standing by to save people amidst concerns of rising water level in Assam.
It is also pertinent to mention that all branches of the Armed Forces including Indian Air Force in the region are in a state of full readiness to launch flood rescue operations when required to provide speedy relief and succour to the effected people.
