Roing
A group of 63 denizens of Roing township of Lower Dibang Valley, Arunachal Pradesh performed Flash Mob with ‘Swachh Bharat’ message on Sunday.
The team comprising different age groups belonging to all walks of life showcased Flash Mob at various places of the district headquarter.
The Team started performing extempore dance in the tune of a medley of songs. The act dumbfounded public who were busy in their routine Sunday shopping and made them clueless initially. As the songs progressed, the mission of their moves also got revealed.
The message was for ‘Swachh Bharat’ and the Team comprised volunteers of the citizens’ volunteering group, ‘i-Clean ROING’.
In fact, by performing Flash Mob for the first time in Roing, they strategically put across message of ‘Swachh Bharat’ to commemorate the 1st Raising Day Celebrations of ‘i-Clean ROING’.
The path-breaking Flash Mob was choreographed by Deepa Tayu and the Team was led by Mr Ibi Mepo with support of Paul Chawang, Moina Meghu, Neharika Sehgal Umbrey, Nina Mele & Prem Mikhu.
Flash Mob is an act by a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and seemingly pointless act for a brief time, then quickly disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment and artistic expression with a message.
‘i-Clean ROING’ is a benevolent group of citizens purely on volunteering basis working for cleanliness of their city through weekly spot fixings. Henceforth, they plan to campaign for waste segregation @ source as well.
