Chau Zingnu Namchoom spoke on the role of teachers for creating responsible citizens and good human beings saying that we celebrate this day to acknowledge the hard work put in by teachers in shaping the future generations and in recognition of their contributions towards development.
He lauded the efforts of the Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who has a fatherly figure for the Namsai district in bringing all round development to all the three constituencies of Namsai District. He said that Namsai has become an educational hub and development centre today all because of his initiatives. He informed that Namsai falls in the third place from the bottom in the state in terms of poor results in CBSE board exams and urged the teachers to revamp and work hard to bring good results from this year’s academic session.
Speaking on the occasions, Deputy Commissioner Namsai, R K Sharma said we must observed Teacher’s Day every year with a purpose to bring improvement in quality of education which should be visible in the results in order to make the observation of Teacher’s Day meaningful.
On the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein announced to provide fund for construction of School Auditorium and renovation of Namsai Higher Secondary School and also for extension of school buildings of Mahadevpur Higher Secondary School.
At Namsai, 106 Govt & Private schools under Namsai Constituency were felicitated by the Parliamentary Secretary, Chau Zingnu Namchoom and the Namsai District Administration with Certificate of Appreciation which was given away by the dignitaries.
At Mahadevpur, all the schools under Lekang Constituency and teachers that will be attaining superannuation within this year were felicitated by the Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein and the District Administration. Meritotious teachers of Lekang Constituency were also felicitated in the function.
On the occasion, the dignitaries paid floral tribute to the portrait of Dr S Radhakrishnan and the teachers and students presented songs and delivered speech on the life of Dr S Radhakrishnan and Teacher’s Day.
Two minutes silence was also observed to pay condolence to Jomde Kena, Minister of Health & Family Welfare and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
