Itanagar: APCC protest against NDA govt over economic situation in country

APCC president and former CM Nabam Tuki, former president and the former MP Takam Sanjoy, led the protest.

Arunachal Pradesh Congress Party ( APCC) has organised a protest at IG Park on Wednesday against the NDA govt over economic situation in the country. APCC alleged that during this BJP Led NDA govt country’s economy going to slow down, prices of essential commodities are rising day by day, unemployment is also increasing.

APCC president and former CM Nabam Tuki, former president and the former MP Takam Sanjoy, led the protest.

Congress leaders  termed alleged the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB )as ‘genocide’ – an intentional act to destroy the people of NE region.  They said that “ The Congress party will fight against the CAB , and  also appeal the leaders of the ruling party to take the sentiments of the locals into consideration and not to work against the interest of the people.”

Addressing the gathering  Nabam Tuki  said that the recent decision of GoI on the merger or privatisation of NEEPCO is very painful for us and for the people of northeast.  “NEEPCO is company of the NE states. Privatization will give away the rights, privileges and sentiments of the indigenous people of the NE states.” said Tuki

APCC vice president Rajen Nani, while speaking on alleged unprecedented economic slowdown and collapse of banking system, blamed the Modi Govt. Economic crisis is underway but the Govt isn’t moving a finger to address these issues”, Nani claimed.

On the issue of unemployment, Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress president Geli Ete stated, “The highest unemployment rate of 8% in 45 years in India is the result of Modi Govt. Almost 77% of Indian families earn a monthly income under Rs 10000.
