Arunachal: World Blood donor day observed in Itanagar
Total 34 units blood – male-27 and female-7- were donated voluntarily on the occasion which was held at golden jublee state banquet hall here.

World Blood Donor Day-2019 was celebrated across the state. The main celebration was organised by State Blood Transmission Council (SBTC) in collaboration with Arunachal Voluntary Blood Donors Organisation (AVBDO), a unit of Arunachal Vivekananda Yuva Shakti (AVYS) and I Love Arunachal (ILA) with “Safe blood for all” as theme.,
Total 34 units blood – male-27 and female-7- were donated voluntarily on the occasion which was held at golden jublee state banquet hall here.
The donors included students from RKM Nursing School, members of I love Arunachal, mediaperson, police personnel from CRPF 138 Battalion, Itanagar SDPO Dekio Gumja, but AVYS founder-chairman Ramesh Jeke Tatung inked a record by donating blood for 54th time.
Health and family welfare secretary Juhi Mukherjee, speaking chief guest, described Ramesh as a role model to serve as great source of inspiration. Blood is for needy person and person who donate blood are next to god and urge upon all to come forward to save life of others.
All blood banks of the state government will be renovated and repaired and infrastructure will be made available and functional and is in the priority but it would only fulfilled the need for the patient and person in needy if the general masses and others come forward and join hand for mission save life.
Arunachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (APSACS) project director Dr Riken Rina, TRIHMS blood bank officer Dr Passang Sona, SBTC deputy director Dr Nabam Budh, Itanagar Buddhist Cultural Society, Capital Complex Dree Festival Committee, STEP, Arunachal Pradesh Legal Service Authority (judge Budi Habung) and ILA Regon Naji were felicitated by SBTC on the occasion.

APSLSA Member Secretary Budhi Habung while talking to medias said that donated blood does not mean that there will be shortage of blood in body. Blood give life and appeal all like minded people including youths to join hand with such organising engaged in social welfare activities for service to the humanity. He said that the layers community have also organised such blood donation camp at High court and our next target is in Jail. We will continue to make awareness campaign from our side. He said I have also donated blood today and it is fourth time. Habung added.
World blood donors day was also celebrated by NCC cadets of Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic under 1 AP Battalion National Cadet Corps (ARMY) has donated blood. The programme was held under the guidance of Lieutenant Palvinder Singh, ANO and Nb. Subedar D.K.Singh Training JCO.
Ten units of blood was donated on the occasion.
