Arunachal Pradesh Government banned selling of cigarette and other tobacco products near schools and to youths below 18 years,

The State Government has ordered that no person shall sell or offer, cigarette or other tobacco product to any person who is under 18 years of age, and selling of tobacco product within a radius of one hundred yards of any educational institutions.
The government of Arunachal Pradesh in an order issued on dated July 29, 2019 vide order No- SEDN/222/2019/1184 and circulated to all Deputy commissioners, Deputy Director of School Education, directorate of Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Higher Education and all officers of education department including ISSE for compliance of the order as per the provisions of Section 6 of COTOA, 2003.
To ensure the effective implementation of the section and to protect the vulnerable population, especially young children from exposure to tobacco use, the Guidelines for Free Educational Institutions (ToFEI) have been released by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India, the order added.
