Arunachal: 1st Inter school basketball tournament-2019 begins

All together 16 teams are taking part which include 11 boys team and 6 girls teams from various parts of capital complex are taking part in three days event.

1st Inter school basketball tournament-2019 for under-19 kick off at the school ground of Royal International school, Papu Nallah amid huge gathering today.

All together 16 teams are taking part which include 11 boys team and 6 girls teams from various parts of capital complex are taking part in three days event.

Inaugurating the function Arunachal Olympic Association Secretary General AK Techi said that it is an opportunity that our children can shine at national and international arena in all types of games and sports as we have  concern Minister who were sportsmen like Union Minister of State for Sports Kiren Rijiju, Mama Natung and supported by chief Minister Pema Khandu.

There have been tremendous progress in promotion of games and sports and its activities including procurement of items and construction of infrastructure including establishment of three academy of centre of excellence in state.

he said there are around 40 registered sports organization many are either defunct and non performing and we have been regulating them so that they also take part in various games and sport and bring laurel for the state. After viewing performances and activities of the Basketball association in last three years it will be included in the upcoming state Olympic games and assured full support of AOA.

He urge upon youths to stay away form the clutch of drug and appeal the youths to maintain their health and concentrate in studies to become a fine gentle man and serve the society and state for its all round development.

Guest of honour, North East Karate Association General Secretary Bulang Marik, special guest Sage Laden Sports Academy (SLSA) Principal K Ziro, Royal International School Principal AK Palint also motivated the students and youths to play with a team spirit and become a good players and concentrate in their field of excellence.

APBA President D Ori among other also address the gathering.
