Three school students of JNV, Geku, in Upper Siang studying in Class IX , are reported to have drowned in the River Siang while swimming in the afternoon on Wednesday at around 2.30 pm. Out of the seven students among the group, four are reported to be safe and returned back.
The Upper Siang District Administration have alerted villages along the Siang Bank to help in the Search Operation and report on finding the bodies and also alerted the Counterpart Deputy Commissioners of Siang and East Siang, who have also alerted the GBs of the nearby villages along the right and left of Siang Banks in their respective jurisdictions .
NDRF team have been also pressed into services. The Boys belong to the Pertin, Borang and Lipir Clans of the Adi Community.
