Taro Chatung, who was born on 01.03.1963 in Ziro, who was in a sate Govt job initially, launched first electronic news through a slot of DDK for 15-minute, named News & Views, brought age-old rich cultural heritage and life style of tribal people of Arunachal Pradesh before rest of India.
He revolutionized electronic media through his typical style. He also served as Arunachal Press Club, Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists and Arunachal Electronic & Digital Media Association president.
Two weeks ago he was detected suffering from serious level ailment and flown to New Delhi for treatment where the doctors sent him home. He was admitted to TRIMHS and passed away at 10 am on Saturday while undergoing treatment.

His mortal remains were brought to APC where the press fraternity led by APC adviser Taba Ajum, APC president Dodum Yangfo, APUWJ president Amar Sangno played floral tributes and observed one-minute silence to pray for the departed soul to rest in peace.

His brother Taro Tallo saluted media fraternity for standing with the family at the time of grief, while his wife Taro Bina was crying beyond consolation. “Taro Chatung amar rahy” sound rented the air as his mortal remains with family members and GoAP secretary Dani Salu left the APC premises for Ziro.
A media team will be for Ziro early Sunday morning to join in the funeral rights.
