Prashant Gautam (IPS) took charge as Superintendent of Police (SP) of East Siang district on Wednesday, Nov-29, from outgoing SP Pranav Tayal who has been transferred with new assignment to SIC Chimpu, Itanagar.
Gautam hailing from Delhi is a 2013 batch IPS officer and after serving in Delhi Police as ACP, joined Itanagr PHQ on 17th August, 2017. Earlier he has also served in DRDO as a Scientist and Deputy Commissioner (Customs) in Mumbai.
Prevention of any illegal activities, ensuring peace & harmony in the district, maintenance of law and order, transparent and clean police administration would be Gautam’s priority, assured the new SP in his first day message.
Having studied the present working pattern with the police officers, SP Gautam chalked-out strategies to tackle law and order and crime control. He instructed the police officers to ensure public safety and to focus on crime prevention and detection efficiently and in speedy manner with help of modern technologies. On traffic regulations, he opined that common mindset needed to change first. People should obey and respect traffic rules and further stated that all available resources would be utilized to maintain safety, security, peace and tranquility in the society.
The SP has strongly urged the citizens of Pasighat to register their grievances fearlessly, adding that higher importance would be given to community policing bridging the gap between the police and civilians. B. Tech in Electronics & Communication, SP Gautam would develop a ‘Mobile-App’ soon in order to address and monitor the grievances of public in more effective manner. “If public or social organizations do not get the satisfactory response from their respective police stations, they can contact or meet directly and share their problems openly with me”, he further added.
