Itanagar Police sources said a case has been registered and after post-mortem, the body of the deceased has been handed over to the relatives for conducting the last rite.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the bus was in drunken condition and reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The impact was so strong that after hitting the duo, the bus hit a Tata mobile bearing registration NO- AR 01 D 8453 which was parked on the roadside.
Upon being informed, large numbers of local people including shopkeepers shut down their shutters and gathered near the police station to see the deceased body. The parents of the deceased reportedly running a small utensil shop in Gandhi Market. Out of four children, Apsana was the 3rd and currently residing here at P Sector, Itanagar.
Meanwhile, the Government Higher Secondary School during the morning observed a condolence prayer for the declared a day off as a mark of respect for the departed soul to rest in peace.
it is the clear case of drink n drive…..there no safety in case of traffic rules in itanagar….even there is no traffic single in tinalis …im afraid when im walking in footpath…many tampos and two use the footpath quickly reach their destination ……traffic police of itanagar are useless….
