Minister Civil Supplies and consumer Affairs and WRD etc Kamlung Mosang directed the officers of Civil Supply department to immediately proposed 6 additional Gas agency for capital complex in view of growing demand and increase of consumer of LPG in state capital and its adjoining area.’

Talking to Arunachal24  Mosang said that he have information about the rise of consumers and also standing in long queue in almost all gas agency of the capital complex, at the same time due to increase of population of state capital and its adjoining area due to rapid urbanisation the population and household of the capital is increasing with rise of LPG consumers but till date we have 6 Gas agency for distribution of LPG cylinders to the consumers of state capital.

Mosang said that he is also concern about the long queue of the consumer  to het LPG  cylinder.  But this is due to ongoing democratic movement in the region, protest by the transporters union for their demand etc, he added.

Direction have been given to the officers of the department as well as administrative officers to regulate the system properly so that the genuine consumers do not face problems in getting their refilled cylinder,  Mosang said.

Capital complex District Food & Civil Supply Officer Amit Bengia while inform that the capacity of bottling plant at Kimin in Papum Pare district is around 8 trucks daily.  The transportation is carried in truck with 320 per truck with less in compare to the demand of the capital complex. The main reason is that after the inauguration of the bogibeel bridge over river Brahamaputra the supply from Guwahait have been closed due to shifting of its office to Tinsukia region and hope that it may be resolved, but the consumers need not to be panic and have patience

Indian Oil Corporation  (IOC) North Lakhimpur Based LPG Area Incharge of Arunachal Pradesh(North Lakhimpur sales area), S MM Hussain when contacted that the main reason for huge rush of consumers standing in queue is due to ongoing democratic movement and unrest in the state and region is affecting the free flow of the movement of the vehicles.

Several bandh call in Assam and region have severely affected the smooth distribution of LPG cylinders and due to which distribution process have been affected.

Another hurdles which have increased all the problems for the consumers was the democratic movement by the transporters  of the oil company due which the transportations of the cylinders were affected and all these problems are continue for last one  month and the valued consumers have been suffering since then. He said.

There are six Gas agency in capital complex which include Mepung Gas agency Banderdewa, Arunachal Gas agency Nirjuli, Papum Pare Gas agency Doimukh, Arunsiri Gas agency Naharlagun, Marina Gas agency and Donyi Polo Gas agency at Itanagar with around Fifty Five Thousand customers. Few more connection are being given at on spot of the government programme run called as ‘Sarkar Apke duar’.

Due to gap in flow of the cylinder in the capital complex we are trying our best to reduce the gap which would minimise the rush in the outlet. He appeal the consumers to bear with the inconvenience for few more than days. The supply will be normal soon, Hussain added.

One public leader said that a new Gas agency called ‘Nirmal Gas Agency’ having its two outlet one at Itanagar while other at Papu Nallah is also functioning and one can avail their connection if they desire in case such problem with IOC persist.

However the rush in almost all the retail Gas agency in the capital complex is not reducing rather it is increasing day by day and the consumers now a days began to stand in queue since early morning at around 6 AM which is a bad prescience for the state government who are just a mute expectation of the problems of the genuine people.
