Itanagar- Capital police recovered robbed scorpio, arrested auto thieve 

The Itanagar Capital police on Tuesday nabbed one auto thieve and recovered a Scorpio, he had snatched at Naharlagun on 23rd May.



City police arrested a person who was  involved in robbery and snatching of an Scorpio.  Police also  recovered the scorpiro. The allege accused is now sent for 5 days custody for further investigation.

City Police Chief, Tumme Amo inform that on 23/04/19 a written FIR was received at Naharlagun PS from one Purna Orang (driver),  about he was attacked by some unknown miscreants and one Scorpio vehicle which he was driving snatched away.

Accordingly Naharlagun PS registered a case no-73/19 u/s 341/323/392/34 IPC.

On 25/5/19 morning at 8 am a default message was received by the owner of the vehicle in his  mobile number registered with the dealer (Ashok Motors Tezpur) during purchase,  regarding vehicle servicing/repair from Mahindra Iconic dealer Lekhi Naharlagun.

From that message police came to know that robbed Scorpio vehicle has some mechanical problem. The police team instantly visited the iconic dealer/ service centre at Lekhi and inquired about the Scorpio vehicle, but vehicle was not there and the official of dealers could not tell anything concrete about the person who came for the repairing of the said Scorpio.

Then police team in civil uniform conducted physical checking of all the private garages and other places within Naharlagun area & one white Scorpio without number plate was noticed at A-Sector Naharlagun by the side of one private garage and the garage owner told us that one unknown person kept there some days ago telling that Scorpio got ignition problem and he would come back to take it to dealer.

On careful inspection, it was found to be the same Scorpio vehicle robbed on 23/04/19 from Papu nalla. So police team in civil dress waited there to nab the alleged accused person on his return to tow the vehicle.

On the 3rd night on 27/05/19 night at 2200 hrs the suspect later identified as Nima Tsering (27 ) came there with one dumper vehicle to tow the Scorpio vehicle. He was then caught red handed and Scorpio vehicle was recovered and seized from his possession alongwith original RC of vehicle.

The alleged accused person Nima Tsering was produced before the court and he is remanded to 5 days police custody.

It is suspected that he may be involved in other vehicle theft too, so investigation is on to get more information from him.

Police team got success after 3 days & night constant watch without a rest at the private garage.
