Arunachal Pradesh- Five Days Workshop on Women Skill Development Begins

The first of its kind in Arunachal Pradesh, five Days Workshop on women skill development under woman activities began from Monday at Multipurpose Hall. The training Programme was being organized by NEZCC (North East Zonal Cultural Centre) Dimapur in collaboration with Department of Art & Culture. The Programme was attended by M.Tayeng, DACO, R.tayeng, DLEO, Y.Mele, Cultural Secretary, IMCLS ,Four Resource person and all together 30 participants from IDU and ADI communities of Lower Dibang Valley District.
While speaking on the occasion, Monnong Tayeng, DACO Roing briefed the aims & Objectives of the training programme and urged the participants to Share their ideas and put full dedication for successful conduct of the programme. He also informed that this kind of training programme will equip the women with skills in traditional jewellery making like beads necklaces, ear rings, bangles etc which will provide them means to uplift their economic and social status like women in other states of North east.
It also creates opportunities for development of artistic skills which will help to promote their own products in local & outside market and also attract the tourists in the district. The programme will also help in documentation/ transcription of art form of our belief system, customs and tradition which have been passed on through generation orally, he further informed.
Rokom Tayeng, DLEO stated that the training programme will also provide a platform for cultural exchange and better understanding of making traditional jewellery of both the communities. He also requested the participants to share innovative ideas in designing traditional jewellery. Shri Y.Melle, Cultural Secretary, IMCLS also spoke on the occasion.
