Arunachal Police cracked sensational Case for Ransom of Udipta Energy Oil Company’s Employee Kashyap Boruah, and recovered ransom money, arrested accused.

The sensational case of abduction and ransom of an employee of Udipta Energy Oil Company in Changlang district in April 1 have been cracked by the changlang police recovered around 28 lakhs ransom amount while arrested two main accused.

DIG (Eastern Range) Take Ringu inform that it is the case of an abduction of an employees of Udipta Energy Oil company engaged in extradition and working for oil field in Changlang district. The abduction case was of April 1 from Dayum Circle and the state police have crack the case and further investigating the case to arrest the remaining accused. He said.

I was also present during the operation there. Efforts are being made to nab the other accused involved in the case. DIG Ringu added.

Talking to Arunachal24 Romil  Baaniya , SP Changlang informed that “on the evening of 1st April 2019 at around 6 pm Kashyap Boruah,  an employee of Udipta  Energy Oil Company, while he was travelling with the driver of the Ambulance vehicle of the Company   between the rig site and the office area in Innao  at Maitripur in Diyun Circle, Changlang District  were stopped by 2 (Two) persons with arms in Army uniform  who directed them to leave the vehicle on the road   and forced them to   walk with the abductors towards  the Forest area. Later, a little deep inside the forest, the driver was released after snatching his mobile.

They told Kashyap Boruah that they belong to an insurgent outfit and had kidnapped him for ransom. Accordingly, on receipt of the complaint, a case was registered at Diyun Police Station vide. Case No. 4/19 u/s 365/341/34 IPC rw 25(1B)(a) of Arms Act and investigation of the case was started giving  top priority on safe release of abducted person,

The kidnappers demanded a sum of Rs. 3.00 Crore (Rupees Three crore) only as a ransom to release the abducted person.

After negotiation with the Company Management, the ransom amount was reduced to Rs. 40.00 Lakh (Rupees Forty Lakh) only which was delivered to the Kidnappers on 29th April 2019 in the Sukha Nallah area by the Company Management and Kashyap Boruah, the abducted person was released on the same day.

After the safe release of the abducted person, the operation to nab the kidnappers and to recover the amount paid as ransom was launched jointly by the Changlang Police team headed by Romil Baaniya SP Changlang and  Army – Officers and troops of the Innao COB of Chowkham Batallion under DAO Division with the help and inputs of Local Intelligence Team, Changlang.

The entire operation was led and supervised by Take Ringu, the DIGP (Eastern Range) Namsai. During the operation, all locations used as  shelters and  the persons suspected to be involved in facilitating and supporting the kidnappers were raided based on the local intelligence inputs leading to the arrest of  two main accused along with  eight other persons who had helped them in committing the crime.

The raid was conducted in ten different locations in deep jungles and villages. A total  amount of  Rs. 28,19000.00 (Rupees Twenty Eight Lakh and Nineteen Thousand ) only was recovered out of Rs. 40.00 Lakh (Rupees Forty Lakh) only paid as ransom amount.

In this connection Police  arrested the main accused is Boksu Chakma and  Sikko Chakma. Third one is Raj Kumar Chakma from Tripura is at large and suspected to have fled away to Tripura with some cash out of the ransom amount. Efforts are being made to nab him.

Beside of these three some of the accused were the key members of APPDPF (Arunachal Pradesh Deprived Peoples Front headed by Nake chakma ) police informed
