Authorities have made massive security arrangement to ensure free and fair re-polling in 18 polling stations of Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi district.

Hours after the Election commission has announced re-polling in 18 polling station under Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi districts, Arunachal Pradesh Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Nodal Officer (Election) Sunil Garg on Monday said that 18 companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed in both the districts to ensure free and fair re-poll.
“Full proof security arrangement has been made in Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi districts for re-polling at 18 polling stations. We have given around 18 companies of force. Two platoons will be deployed in each polling booth and others will used for patrolling, nakabandi, foot march and for security of strong room. All magistrates RO, DEO and other officers will be provided security,” Mr Garg said on being asked about security arrangements for re-polling.
The IGP said that to further strengthen the security in each polling booth besides two platoons, one Deputy SP (Dy SP) will be the in-charge of that respective polling station.
“We have also identified some places and tried to strengthen security further, in both the districts two additional SP have been sent besides regular SP. In both the district four additional SP will be there for re-polling ,’’ he said.

In both districts, to supervise the overall security system, two DIG, one in each district will be deployed, Garg added.
The present security set will also continue as vital installation like office, markets, connectivity area and other vulnerable pockets to check and provide security in general public.
To ensure free and fair polls so that people have faith in ‘democratic system’, the IGP said, “besides district administration video cameras, from police administration additional will be put so that there can be double checking .”
IGP also appealed to people of both the districts to come out at large to exercise their franchise to strengthen the democracy.
Earlier in the day, the poll announced that re-polling will be in 18 polling stations under Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi districts on April 27.
