The traditional agricultural practices of the tribal community need to be carried forward, while also incorporating scientific methods. The DC on the occasion also took the opportunity to appeal the village elders to guide the youth to keep away from drugs and alcohol and provide them education for bright future.
It is festival related to the first seasonal harvesting of crops like paddy and other various edible items starting from the middle part of August – September (Puilapu) every year. The Festival promotes unity and brotherhood and participated by each and everyone in their respective village. Every Year deity goddess of “ APEH –MILLI ( Goddess 0f Crops) “ and APEH- GONLO ( Guards the crops from Disasters) for prosperity and bumper harvest.The Festival also helps the community to preserve folksongs, folklore and oral literature of the hardworking and artistic Idu Mishmi Community in today’s times.
