We Will Try To Bring Permanent Solution Of Flood- Dy CM

“We will try to bring permanent solution to the flood problems which recur every year in Diyun area due to spillage of Noa Dehing River” said Dy CM, Chowna Mein who visited flood affected Diyun Circle of Changlang District, today and took stock of the actual situations in various affected villages. He directed the Executive Engineer, department of Water Resource, Bordumsa to submit detailed report and estimates to the govt immediately for a durable flood measures. “There will be no shortcomings of basic necessary items to the victims who have been evacuated and taking shelter in relief camps” he added while assuring of all possible help from the Government to the affect people of Bordumsa Sub-division and the entire areas of the state under flood. He asked the local administration to carry out proper damage assessments ans submit the same for providing interim relief.
Terming flood as major problem which hits the area every year the Dy CM suggested plugging of river in the lower bank areas to avert its recurrence in future.
Earlier, briefing the Dy CM, local MLA Shri Nikh Kamin informed that about 200 families from diyun have become landless who were displaced by river erosion and about 1000 people are affected by flood during the current monsoon. He requested the Dy CM for provide adequate assistance to affected families.
Accompanied by Local MLA, Shri Nikh Kahmin, MLA Namsai Shri Zignu Namchoom, Changlang Deputy Commissioner Shri Wayong Kihimhun and Superintendent of Police Shri Amit Sharma the Dy CM visited major river erosion site in the bank of River Noa Dehing which is gradually advancing towards Moitripur village, Jyotipur, Dumpani, etc.
Earlier, the Dy CM accompanied by Namsai MLA also visited Philobari village off Namsai District where Noa Dehing River is eroding its bank and changing the course towards thee village.
