The power supply in storm affected areas of Papum Pare district has been restored, while the restoration work in Chessa-Sunajuli under Banderdewa is underway.
The power supply at various locations in Papum Pare district was completely snapped due to severe Storm with hailstorm that lashed leaving a trail of devastation. More than 150 houses were damaged rendering them homeless.
Nirjuli Electrical Division, Executive Engineer Ajay Murtem said that the existing power line from Kampo-Jumi, which was snapped due to a storm, has been restored.
Balijan Sub-Division Power AE, Janu Tayeng, who is camping in Chessa-Sunajuli area, said that with active support of the locals and PRI leaders, he would be able to restore the 11 KV HT line latest by Monday. But LT line of the area would take at least three more days for restoration.
Talking to this daily, Minister Urban Development and local MLA Nabam Rebia said that the trail of devastation was not only in Chessa-Sunajuli area, but in Jote, Bassarnallo, Balijan and other parts of his assembly constituency as well.
Meanwhile, the transformer which got burnt and damaged recently at Lower Niti Vihar, Itanagar has been replaced with a new transformer, following which, the power supply been restored, said Itanagar Capital Electrical Division EE, Nido Taka.
