Khandu attends Dalai Lama Birth Day celebration at Buddhist Culture Centre

Chief Minister Pema Khandu today attended the 84th birthday celebration of XIVth Dalai Lama here at Buddhist Culture Centre Gompa. Chief Minister also attended the tree plantation drive and inaugurated a herbal medicine centre in the Gompa premises.
Tawang– People from all walk of life today celebrated the 84th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Gyalwa Tenzin Gyatso in Tawang. The main function was organized at Ugyenling Gonpa, Tawang, birth place of HH the 6th Dalai Lama. The devotees lighted lamps burnt incense and prayed for the long and healthy life of HH the 14th Dalai Lama. The main function at Ugyenling gonpa was organized by Tawang monastery administration.
Humanity group an active NGO of Tawang on this occasion organized a blood donation camp at Khandro Drowa Tsangmu District Hospital Tawang in collaboration with District Blood Bank Tawang. Shri Jampa Tsering, President Humanity group and Blood bank officer Tawang Dr.T.Gyaltsen initiated this camp by appealing all the donors to come forward for the noble cause on this special day. There was overwhelming response from the youths informed Dr.Gyaltsen.
The deptt of Environment and forest Tawang in collaboration with NGO Environmental protection Society(EPS) on sixth day of Van Mahotsava coinciding with the 84th birthday of HH 14th Dalai Lama, Planted today more than 500 plant saplings in Phamla and Sange-ling gonpa area, the monks from sange-ling gonpa and villagers of phamla village also participated in plantation programme alongwith members of EPS and forest officials.
Reports have been received from Lungla and Mogto area also conducting various social programmes on this day.
