Itanagar: There will be unrest in Northeast if CAB is passed- NESO

If the Citizenship Amendment Bill ( CAB )-2016 is passed in Rajy Sabha, then the entire northeast region will be in unrest, warned Pritam Waii Sonam, Coordinator NESO, while talking to media in Itanagar on Monday during a protest march against CAB.
In solidarity with the North East Students’ Union (NESO) in its protest against the proposed Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) across all North Eastern States, the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union along with the North East Students Organisation’ (NESO) staged a demonstration against the infamous Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB)-2016 outside the Raj Bhawan, here.
Hundreds of students of the state took an active part in the protest which was started from the Tennis Court, IG Park and culminated outside the Raj Bhawan. The protesters also submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister and union Home Minister trough the Governor, stating that the bill is against the indigenous people of the region.
While addressing the media persons, Pritam Waii Sonam, Coordinator NESO warned that the region will be in unrest if the bill is passed in the Rajya Sabah.
“Since the present government has the majority, the bill will be passed easily in Lok Sabha but the MPs of the Rajya Sabha should be very reasonable,” he added.
He further stated that the NESO will never accept the CAB and added that their anti-CAB movement will continue.
He added that the protest is not against any Political parties or leaders but only to ensure protection for the indigenous people.
AAPSU President Hawa Bagang also stated that they have only one agenda, that is, No CAB under any circumstance.
“Our stand is very clear, we have no suggestion or recommendation but a strong voice, no to CAB,” he added.
He also alleged that the bringing of CAB is only for political motives and stated that they will continue to fight for the indigenous people.

He also appealed to the Chief Minister Pema Khandu to have a strong stand on the issue for the interest of the people of the state.
Meanwhile, he also said that the Prime Minister and Home Minister as an Indian should work for the interest of the Indian citizens.
