Itanagar: Raj Bhavan initiative towards ‘Healthy Arunachal’
On the initiative of the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, a one-day Health & Hygiene Session was conducted in the Govt. Primary School.

On the initiative of the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.), a one-day Health & Hygiene Session was conducted in the Govt. Primary School, B-Sector, Itanagar, located near Raj Bhavan, on 12th December 2018.
In order to improve the health and hygiene status of children in schools, the Governor had advised the officials of Governor Secretariat and medical officers of Raj Bhavan Dispensary to conduct the sessions with special emphasis on First Aid in the schools as the stepping stone towards ‘Healthy Arunachal’.
To start with, Dr. Jennifer Tayeng, Senior Medical Officer, and Dr Gojum Karlo Karbak, Medical Officer of Raj Bhavan Dispensary, Itanagar conducted in the Govt School, where all the students and teachers benefitted.
Dr. Tayeng educated the children on First Aid. She highlighted on basics steps in first aid and how to manage cut injury, burns, swelling and bruises, nose bleeding, insect bites, dog bite, snakebites, foreign body in eyes, nose and ear, fainting and heatstroke, choking, seizures, fracture and electrocution.
Dr Karbak educated the students on the importance of personal hygiene and advised ways to maintain a healthy mind and body. She also taught them about hand washing techniques.
Senior officers of Governor Secretariat were present on the occasion.
