Itanagar: Heavy rains trigger landslides in capital complex
The Itanagar has borne the brunt of torrential downpour when heavy rains triggered landslide in several places including minister bungalow in Niti vihar.

Due to continues rain fall from last two days land slide occurred at several places in capital complex to create havoc among the resident of capital complex.
Today’s morning a massive landslide was witness at backside of Banglaw no 14, Niti Vihar, Itanagar where a portion of boundary wall was washed away and the approach road towards Upper Niti VIhar collapse following hundreds of members of the colony was stuck.
While speaking to media person former IMC Councilor Donik Tayu informed that this landslide has washed away the approach foot path, roads of nearby colony were around hundred of family living Landslide also washed away the water pipe line and electricity connection of the colony.

After receiving information about the landslide, Itanagar EAC cum Executive Magistrate, Hengo Basar visited the area alongwith DDMO Moromi Sonam. Bassar said that he have informed line department like PHED, and electricity about situation and possible restoration. He also informed that as a magistrate of Itanagar, he has decided to provided temporary approached foot path for people of downwards area through the Bangalow No 14 as a humanitarian ground .
The banglow is presently occupying by the MLA Phunsum Khimun and I have also conveyed a massaged to the MLA Khimhun and he should understand situation Basar added.
In the afternoon the retaining and boundary wall of the Pantaloon (Shopping mall) collapse, the transformer and part of the parking area of the Shopping Mall was also washed away.
Meanwhile the district administration is already issued a standing order to people of capital complex for alertness during rainy session. People should be alert and stay safety place before happened untoward incidents during the rainy session. Particularly who are staying near the river bank, landslide zone and near the hilly area.
