Arunachal: Women empowerment initiatives by NHPC, DMP
NHPC, DMP organises a one month long skill Development programme for women empowerment as part of CSR & SD at Roing.

NHPC, Dibang Multipurpose Project ( DMP ) in the larger interest of the society and as part of Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainable Development inaugurated a skill Development programme of one month duration on 1st March, 2019 at Department of Textile and Handicraft, Arunachal Pradesh for underprivileged women and girls in Dibang & Lower Dibang Valley in association with Department of Textile and Handicraft, Arunachal Pradesh.
The training includes Tailoring and Handicraft classes for 40 women through regular coaching through experts. The programme will empower women in the field of entrepreneurship and self sustenance.
This noble endeavour of NHPC, Dibang Multipurpose Project under its CSR-SD scheme was inaugurated by Biliyol Mushahary, Sr. Manager (HR) in the presence of Bharatendu Sharma, Sr. Manager (PR), Dibang Multipurpose Project. An interactive session was also conducted between the aspirants and NHPC Officers so as to clear any queries regarding the above training programme and also to communicate about the various development programmes initiated by the Govt. of India under Skill Development programmes.
The NHPC official and SHG- ABBE GEBA NEH members urged the trainees to make the most of this opportunity so that they may be able to develop their skills and also in the process earn their livelihood.
The programme was also attended by Smt. Runem Tangha, Development Officer, Deptt. of Textile & Handicraft, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh and Smt. Khatung Sinai, Tailoring Expert. Smt. Tangha, DO and the members of SHG- ABBE GEBA NEH appreciated the supported provided by NHPC, Dibang Multipurpose Project towards the upliftment of the women of Dibang & Lower Dibang Valley.
Each of the trainees will be provided with a foot sewing machine by NHPC, Dibang Multipurpose Project so that after successful completion of training they may be able to earn their livehood.
