Arunachal: 5 bags Cannabis destroy to mark awareness campaign 

At least  five bags of cannabis (ganja) was destroyed and burned as a mark of awareness campaign  to make Mengio area free from Cannabis cultivation.

A mass awareness campaign was held at General ground Mengio under Sagalee Sub-division on Feb 27 to make Mangio free from cannabis (ganja) cultivation as well consumption by the local people.

Save Anne Mengio (SAM) Chairman Gyamar Tana in his address said that there are lots of effect on health and economy of the people living in the far flung area of Mengio circle. Many people have been cultivating which need to stop while the district administration need to take strong action on the transportation of such substance in the various check gates of the capital complex so that its  utilisation and consumption is totally stopped.

Moreover government should also do something for shifting of such farmers who are engaged in cultivation of Cannabis (ganja) in the rural area by way of providing of loans, support and other facilities, he added.

Addressing the campaign as Resource person  and Paster of Nyishi Baptist Church Council (NBCC) Rev. Likha Tach said on various affect of the drugs, polygamy system, clean election and to make free from alcohol as well as different types of drugs which affect the health of society and community.

Mengio EAC I/C Dr. Rubu Tabio elaborated affect on health and economy due to use of drugs, also which affect the community and growth of a good society.

Arunachal Pradesh Catholic Association (APCA) Co Convenor Chukhu Tadap also address the gathering on free corruption in election and drug use and other which affect the society health.

BJP leader Tarh Hari, SAM Secretary Tarh Sama, Papum Pare district Goan Burah Welfare Association (PPGBWA) Secretary Nabam Tahi  among other also address the gathering.
