Dirang
The people of Dirang organised a “Safai Abhiyan” in the campus of Kalachakra Gompa on Sunday morning under the banner of Arunachal Pradesh Workers Union .
Talking to Arunachal24 , Sujit Kar, a local resident informed that ” The purpose is to clean the entire campus of the Gompa , so that the local people can celebrate party or picnic on the first day of 2018″. Men, women, youth of the locality took part in this abhiyan and within a few hours the entire campus was cleaned.
Kalachakra Gompa, which is a Buddhist monastery, is located above Kalachakra, a village in Dirang. This monastery is over 500 years old. It is frequented by those who follow Buddhism as well as others who love the serene atmosphere.
