He also said that the meeting has been called to evaluate the sensitive areas so that strategies can be worked out for better manpower management and to share the standard operating procedures prepared by the investigation directorate with other departments in the field.
Mridul Kumar Das, Additional Director of Income Tax (Investigation), Guwahati who is the Nodal Officer (Income Tax) for North East India elaborated on duties and responsibilities of Banks, CAPF, Police, SPs and DEOs.
He said that any seizure of Rs Ten Lakhs and above should invariably be informed to the income tax team which will be stationed at various locations of Arunachal Pradesh.
He said that Central control room of Income Tax has already been activated at Civil Secretariat, Itanagar. Income tax officers from Guwahati would also be joining the centre by tomorrow and the air intelligence for cash movements by helicopter has also been activated.
He also said that the police, the Flying Squad Teams and the Static Surveillance Teams being the first contact points with the public should conduct proper checking and immediately report on seizures of amount above 10 lakhs for verification by income tax department.
The meeting was attended by Shri Sunil Garg, IGP, Secretaries, Directors, DCs, SPs and officers from CEO’s office.
