Arunachal: Enthused by the Governor, 103 donated blood
Out of the 120 volunteers, 103 individuals donated blood, which includes 10 ladies.

As part of the World Red Cross Day commemoration, a blood donation camp was conducted at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on 8th May 2019. Out of the 120 volunteers, 103 individuals donated blood, which includes 10 ladies.
Senior Medical Officer (SMO) of Raj Bhavan Dispensary Dr. Jennifer Tayeng informed that 29 units of blood collected were A positive, 31 units were B positive, 10 units were AB positive, 31 units were O positive and 2 units were AB negative.
SMO pointed that as negative blood group are very rare and difficult to get, out of the 6 (Rh) negative volunteers, only 2 donated blood on the day and other 4 volunteers were kept as standby for emergency cases.
The personnel from NDRF, ITBP, CRPF and State Police, students and teachers from schools, colleges and university, volunteers from NGOs and government departments donated blood.
The Hon’ble Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.), his wife Neelam Misra, Dr. Vanshree Singh, Director, Blood Bank, Indian Red Cross Society, National Headquarters, New Delhi, Secretary Health and Family Welfare cum Managing Director, National Health Mission, Ms. Juhi Mukherjee, Commandant 12th Bn NDRF, Doimukh, Umesh Kumar Thapiyal, Director, Health Service Dr. M. Lego, Vice Chairman, IRCS, Arunachal Pradesh, Er. Tomi Ete, Hony. Secretary, IRCS, Arunachal Pradesh Dr. Emi Rumi amongst others participated in the Camp.
The Camp was organised on the occasion by the Indian Red Cross Society, Arunachal Pradesh Branch in collaboration with Raj Bhavan, Itanagar, Ramakrishna Mission Hospital, Itanagar, and Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Science (TRIHMS), Naharlagun.
