NSCN(K) Cadre Killed in Tirap, Large scale operation in Karbi Anglong

One NSCN ( K ) cadre killed in an encounter with security forces in Tirap of Arunachal Pradesh and the other side the security forces has launched large scale operation in the forest of East Karbi Anglong district of Assam.
Based on intelligence inputs of movement of armed terrorists in the heavily forested East Karbi Anglong District, Red Horns Division of Gajraj Corps carried out large scale search operations in the area. Nefarious activities of the militant outfit, Kuki Liberation Front (KLF) have been a cause of great harassment for the locals and the administration. As per Army sources, the large scale operations were planned to flush out anti-nationals who were also engaged in large scale extortion from their hideouts in the jungles of East Karbi Anglong District.
Hailed as the largest Counter-militancy Operation in recent years by the administration, the operation conducted by the Red Horns Division has been a huge success. The flushing out of terrorists from the area has brought much needed relief and succour for the local population of the strife-torn area.
The Army is also keeping a strict vigil and maintaining a robust Area domination and Counter militancy posture in the disturbed areas of Upper Assam and East Arunachal Pradesh, amidst regular inputs of militants groups trying to make their presence felt in the area and also seeking opportunities to cause attrition to the Security Forces. But as a result of effective domination of the Area by the Army, the attempts of the Terrorist Groups are not fructifying.
It is pertinent to mention that a Hardcore militant of NSCN(K) Self Styled Corporal Wahang Sumyen was neutralized by Assam Rifles in a fire fight on 27 February 2017 in General Area Muktova in Tirap District, Arunachal Pradesh, when he was intercepted by the Assam Rifle Patrolling Party and on being challenged opened fire along with his two accomplices who managed to escape. It has to be noted that this terror party was moving in the area with some sinister ulterior motive , which can be deduced by the recovery of an powerful IED from the dead terrorist along with a Pistol, ammunition and other warlike including survival stores.
