Capital Superintendent of Police M Harsha Vardhan warned the gamblers to beware or face legal action as per law.
SP informed Arunachal24 that any form of gambling in state and in capital complex is totally banned and the administration will not tolerate any more. He said that information have also received that various form of gambling are played in many mela and festival ground which is against the law and warned that if gambling are found in those area the police will take action against the committee .
On a swift action based on information by locals and source raid was conducted by the capital administration led by Itanagar Executive Magistrate Hengo Basar with support of Itanagar Police officer led by SI A K Singh, as much as 5 gamblers were caught on spot with gambling materials from a commercial building located at Ganga Market alongwith a cash amount of Rs.57,290/ was recovered.
An FIR Case Vide Itanagar PS C/NO-204/18 U/S 188 IPC R/W SEC-3 OF APG(P) ACT,2012 registered in this connection. SP added.
Meanwhile Itanagar Executive Magistrate cum EAC Itanagar Capital Complex (ICC) Hengo Basar who spearheaded the drive informed that more such drives would be conducted to check illegal gambling activities.
Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex Prince Dhawan has requested the denizens to refrain from such illegal activities and to cooperate with the Capital Administration.
He has further requested the denizens to inform if they come across such activities as it requires a collaborative effort to get rid of such menace.
