Itanagar: Kameng Ringu appeals to state govt to constitute a Disabled commission

World disabled day observed at Abo-Tani Vidya Niketan here at Pachin colony today in befitting manner.

Addressing the function as chief guest Peoples Party of Arunachal (PPA)Chairman Kameng Ringu appeal the state government to immediately constitute disabled commission as available in other states to help and support the members of Divyang communities.

He said that as per information from reliable sources that there are more than Thirty three Thousand persons/youths with disability but there are many such cases in different far flung and remote villages which are still not reported to any authority which need to find out through a search committee and the legitimate facilities need to be provided.

 He said disability may be by birth or by any reason but they need the support and cooperation of the government and appeal the persons with disability (Divyang) to claim their right even if they are left out or not availed several rights and privilege as well as schemes of the state and central government.

Itanagar Market Welfare Association (IMWA) President Yumlam Achung attending as guest of honour echo the appeal of chief guest said that not only the person with disabilities but all physically challenged and now they are known as Divyang need to be given all facilities of the government even if they have not applied for the same as government should take care of all such members of the society as they have same and equal right and privilege as guaranteed in the constitution of India.

Advisor to Chief Minister and Chief Patron  Tai Tagak clarified several points of the demand of the AAPHWS and said that the state government have been giving several benefits and schemes for the Divyang communities and also to other members. He assured to take up the matter for constitution of commission for the Divyang communities with the state government.

Organising Committee Chairman Agung Bngia, AAPHWS Chairman Tami Taniang, Patron Logi Lokam also address the function.

More than 40 delegates from different parts of state and around three hundred students of Abo-Tani Vidya Niketan,  parents and attendants of the Divyang attended the function
