Itanagar- Fire breaks out in 2 locations, property worth crore gutted, several family rendered homeless

Two massive  fire accident broke out in two different location in Itanagar Capital complex which have damaged property worth of about three crore leaving several family homeless.

The first inferno which occurred near 2 Kilo at Papu Nallah at around 4.30 early morning which completely gutted one MIBT and 3 OBT houses while living homeless to five family. The family members which include Dana Takam (a handicapped/dibbyang), Marbom Yania, Dana Tasa, Dana Tachung, Bakjam Yarang. A cylinder blast also increase the ablaze and all the household property were completely gutted in the devastating fire accident. However fire fighters from Naharlagun Fire Station on alert reached nearby spot but there was no asses to reach upto the fire accident site as it was far away from the National Highway side after crossing river Papu.

 

Parliamentary Secretary PWD, UD etc and Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso after visiting the area said that it was very unfortunate and console the family. He from his source provided immediate relief of Rupees One Lakh to meet immediate needs. He while interacting to the locals appeal them to remain alert and maintain precautionary measures in winter season as many fire accident occurred and which ruin the family.

All Kara Daadi District Students Union (AKDDSU) led by President Gora Rikam also visited and donated some clothing while the 2 Kilo colony welfare Association President Tamuk Tagiang while arrange some utensils for the victims. He appeal government for grant of relief.

Another fire broke out in the busy Akashdeep Shopping complex at around 3 PM which completed gutted 6 shops and 1 partially.

Capital SP Sagar Singh Kalsi inform that the fire which broke out in a departmental store which started spreading in the vicinity and slowly spread in the nearby shop. Fire tender was called and immediately rushed, two fire tender from Itanagar and one from Nahrlagun was pressed into service It took around one hour to douse the fire and bring under control. No loss of life have been reported at both location.

Itanagar Market Welfare Association (IMWA) President Yumlam Achung informed that fire broke out from a locked shop in the Akashdeep shopping complex and suddenly spread in other shop and gutted property worth three crore as the shops which have been gutted were full of commodities and there are nobody to give them employment an shelter and appeal the government to immediately provide necessary relief and rehabilitation so that the victims may start their business again. He however thanks the fire fighters and police as well as locals and youths those who have volunteer physical help  in rescue.

Itanagar Fire Station Officer Koj Taro said 6 shop have been gutted completely and the cause of the fire is understood to be short circuit, and the loss assessment can be done tomorrow and then they can tell.
