Judges noted singer Pebi Ado Bamang and Nyishi Idol-2010 runners-up Nido Ania Godak impressed with melodious Nyishi and Hindi songs selected all of them – Biki Yasha, Yagam Markia, Nido Tezi, Banu Godak, Tatum Dayam, Dangu Talik and Bharat Nabam.

Soul Girls and Soul Athletes, both dance groups, were also selected for their spectacular performance, AADWSYW president Talam Taka and coordinator Yama Taksing said.

Earlier, addressing the gathering senior journalist Pradeep Kumar said that during a two-day NE conference ( May 21 & 22) of Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Hearing Handicapped (AYJNIHH) at Shillong in  2009 as NYP vice president he had advocated that people with disability (PwDs) should be called as people with special abilities (PWSAs).

Interestingly, Union Minister for Skill Development & Employments (MoSDE) & Petroleum Dharmendra Pradhan on 03.05.18 had given a clarion call to name divangjyans as PWSAs instead of calling them PwDs for the world to emulate.

Pradhan was addressing the maiden day-long national workshop on skill development for PWSAs at New Delhi which was attended by over 350 officers of central & state Govt, AYJNIHH besides skill training providers including NYP president H P Biswas and vice president Kumar.

Total  Indian PWSAs population could be around five to six crore with Union Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MoSJE) deciding to divide them into 21 categories in place of seven along with raising job reservation from 3%to 4%, Pradhan had said and  directed MoSDE secretary Shakuntala Gamlin and DEPwD Dolly Chakrabarty to soon chalk out strategies on how to extend various benefits including skill training to the PWSAs, make sector skill council effective, involve corporate bodies who could help through their corporate social responsibility and hold such a national workshop again soon.
