DGP SBK Singh remember police personnel supreme sacrificed for cause of nation on police commemoration day.

The Police Commemoration Day celebrated in befitting manner at Parade ground of Police Training Centre here. The top police officials of the state took part in the ceremony and pay homage to the Police Martyr’s.
Director General of Police (DGP) S.B.K Singh while addressing the gathering said that the Commemoration Day is observed as a mark for the heroic efforts, patriotism and devotion of our Police force, On this day we remember our Martyrs and their families for their supreme sacrifice and we pay rich tribute to them.
He said In 1959, Indian Police personnel were responsible for manning 2500 mile long border of India with Tibet, now China. On Oct’20’1959, three reconnaissance parties were launched for Hot Spring in preparation of further movement of Indian expedition, which was on its way to Lank La. But out of three one team didn’t return. In the early morning of 21st October 1959, all available Police personnel were mobilised to search the team. But the Chinese army opened fired and threw grenades on our Indian Police search team, as a result, ten brave Police personnel attained martyrdom. As a mark of respect, the Police Commemoration Day parade is observed every year on 21st October since 1960.

Here the “Shahidon ke liye Sammaan” parade led by Dy SP Dusu Kaling was organised to pay homage to the Police Martyrs while DGP read out the name of Police personnel of different Police organisation those who have sacrificed their life in the line of duty.
DGP Singh said that the Police personnel to immortalise the supreme sacrifice of the brave Police personnel and requested all to standby and support the Martyrs families. He also said that our today’s presence here reflects our readiness to sacrifice, to protect our nation. The DGP, reiterated that the life history and activities of Martyrs are to be inducted in training courseware. Later on, the senior Police officers and representatives of all ranks of Arunachal Pradesh Police offered wreath to the Martyrs memorial.
All rank and file of the state police and all officers of PTC including Principal Surendra Choudhary,, few retired police officers were present on the occasion.
DGP Singh while talking to this daily said that today is a special occasion wherein we remember those police officers who have made supreme sacrifice for the cause of the motherland while discharging their duty. On this day we are organising several literary and games and sports programme across the state, the literary and sporting programme offer the opportunity to all the family members of the police personnel to join in the celebration. DGP added.
