Arunachal: Parasuram Kund need to be develop- Governor

Governor meets Union Minister of State for Tourism

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) met the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism Prahlad Singh Patel in New Delhi on 21st November 2019. They discussed about the promotion and harnessing of tourism potential in the State.

The Governor, who is on an official tour to the National Capital highlighted the vast tourism potential of Arunachal Pradesh. He impressed upon the minister the pressing requirement of exploiting the vast tourism assets of the State, particularly eco-tourism, adventure tourism and cultural tourism.

The Governor informed that along with vibrant indigenous faiths, the State has many important religious places mentioned in ancient religious scripts. He said that holy Parasuram Kund, which is one of the important places for pilgrimage, needs to be developed for a safe visit, bathing and comfortable stay of the pilgrims, who come from different parts of the country.

The Governor suggested for early finalization of the Parasuram Kund project to assist local youth to have self-employment opportunities and enhance the local economy of the State.

The Governor informed that with the inauguration of Bhupen Hazarika Setu by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Parasuram Kund projects will immensely enhance tourism in the Eastern Arunachal Pradesh.

The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism, while appreciating the importance of tourism activities in Arunachal Pradesh, assured the Governor to expedite the tourism projects in the State.
