Arunachal: NSS Cell of NERIST Conducts mass cleaning campaign
The cleanness campaign was participated by 290 NSS and 20 Nirjuli Market Committee volunteers. They cleaned areas along the boundary of NERIST and highway from Nirjuli RCC Bridge upto Nirjuli police station gate.

NSS Cell of NERIST with active support of Nirjuli Market Committee conducted mass cleaning campaign. The campaign was organized as a part of Swachhata Pakawada program being conducted from 01 to 15th September 2019.
While addressing the volunteers, Coordinator NSS, Dr. A. Dinamani Singh suggested all the volunteers to actively participate in Swachhata Campaign to be a part of clean Arunachal Pradesh movement by making Nirjuli one of the cleanest city in the state.
Tarh Nachung, public leader and former Chief Councilor IMC urged the business persons of Nirjuli to disposed household waste at proper places and in right manner. He further added that unplanned and unscientific disposal of waste poise a great threat to health and hygiene of public.
“NERIST belongs to every citizen of the country and Arunachal in particular, hence it is the responsibility of every individual associated directly or indirectly with the institute to maintain its campus clean.”, stated M. K. Camder, Registrar NERIST, while addressing the gathering.
Prof. P. Lingfa, Dean Student’s affair highlighted on the perils of plastics. He further urged to avoid the use of plastics as much as possible and to dispose plastic waste in proper manner.
“Youths are having bundles of energy. If this energy is used in proper direction, it can move mountains. As such, youths should actively participate in various societal campaigns launched by the government of India viz Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Jal Shakti Abhiyan etc.
This will make society more buoyant to live, at the same time the personality of the volunteers will develop.”, opined Prof. H.S.Yadav, Director, NERIST.
