Arunachal: Former public relations director Supriyo Deb passes away

The media fraternity was shocked to receive the information as he used to maintain personal relation with each one even after retirement.

Former information and public relations director Supriyo Deb passed away on Sunday while going to Dibrugarh for a health check up.

On the way to Dibrugarh m when he reached at North Lakhimpur, chest pain have was develop and he was immediately taken to Dhemaji Govt hospital. The doctor on duty gave oxygen and directed to rush him to Dibrugarh. An ambulance was called but he berated his last while getting into the ambulance, one of his relative said.

His mortal remains were brought to his Harmuti residence for his near and dears, friends to pay their last respect. A large number of IPR and printing departments paid their last respect before the last rite was performed at Bhipuria burial ground on Monday.

Messages of mourning are pouring from various corners while state Governor Brig (Retd) B D Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu led the mourners.

State media fraternity led Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists president Amar Sangno, Arunachal Press Club president Dodum Yangfo and Arunachal Pradesh Electronic Media Association president Mukul Pathak joined the mourners to convey their deep sense of condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

Though he was director of printing department, but due to seniority had taken over charge of IPR director after director Hage Kojin was promoted as secretary, but had retired on 30.03.2010 as printing director.

Kojin, present state election commissioner, terming his death unfortunate and his valuable contributions to both departments will always be remembered.
