Arunachal: Flash flood hits Nirjuli

A flash flood hit Nirjuli township of Arunachal Pradesh and created havoc after about one hour heavy rain today morning. The commuters have faced untold suffering due to submerge of main road in flood water. The traffic movement was disrupted more than two hours due to a school bus and an RGU Bus stuck in water on the mid of main highway near Bage Tinali
There was not a single person from district administration, or police or anyone from disaster management seen on flood areas .
Students boarding in the school bus of New Galaxy Academy, were stuck on the flooded National Highway-415 which were rescued by locals and media persons available there.
However later after pursuing the matter with the SP Capital M Harsha Vardhan, DGP SBK Singh, Naharlagun EAC Hento Karga the local Police of Nirjuli police station with the help of JCB cleared the blockage and after few hours the traffic was made through.

Minister Land Management and Environment Nabam Rebia visited the sport and coordinated with the public. He shows his serious concern of absence of local administration during the time of emergency and doubt on the preparation of the Disaster management of the capital district.
While thanking and appreciated the local people support and appeal them to keep continue such tempo in future and said everything is possible only if the general people extend support in any emergency situation.
